EAGLE POINT, ORE Victorino Arellano-Sanchez is behind bars this week after attempting to steal a bicycle. The news however, is the method in which this suspected criminal was apprehended.
When the police arrived on the scene, in front of a Wal-Mart, they were surprised to find the attempted thief had been lassoed by a man on horseback. According to the sources at the scene, the bike owner had noticed the man swipe her bike from the bike rack in front of the store and attempted to chase him down on foot. However, it was a man on horseback who caught the criminal, by lasso.
Robert Borba, who referred to himself as “just a family man, cowboy” said he wasn’t trying to play the hero; it was just his first instinct in response to the crime.
Others at the scene referred to him as a hero, a “lone ranger”. Police Sgt. Darin May, reports the lassoing of a suspect a “first” for him and his team.
Arellano-Sanchez is being held in the Jackson City jail with a $3000 bail.
