A Peekapoo is an amazing companion dog who will usually spend most of his time and days sitting by your side or perched on your lap. The dog is commonly known for its loyalty and affection. Although he is small in size, he can be quite protective of the people who pet him or people he love which is somehow funny in such a small dog breed.
This Peekapoo dog breed is small in size with varying range of sizes. The dog can stand up to 11 inches tall and weigh between 4 to 20 pounds.
Peekapoo is a loyal, loving, attentive and active family member. He always tends to follow people around, cuddling up on your lap or sit next to you every time. His intelligence and gentleness, makes him eager to learn and play along with children.
The dog is also great at watching or keeping on the lookout for strangers and any suspicious people or animals. He can also be protective and can bark annoyingly to chase away the intruders even though he is small in size.
Additionally, he is a wonderful companion dog, meaning that he always want to be alongside you. Leaving the dog alone for long periods of time can lead to separation, excessive barking and chewing.
Peekapoos are excellent companions for they are friendly, loving and gentle. They can also associate well with other dogs, pets or animals if they are introduced at young age.
The Peekapoo is prone to certain health related issues prevalent with its parent breeds. These health problems substantially reduce his lifespan and affect his temperament. Some common health issues include Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, hip dysplasia, Patellar Luxation and respiratory problems because of its flattened face. It is recommended that you keep your pet in an air conditioned home or well ventilated room during the summer or very hot days. Frequent visits to the veterinarian for check-ups, is also essential in treatment procedures and maintaining healthy life.
They can suffer from heat exhaustion very quickly hence it is recommended to keep them in a well-ventilated or air-conditioned home.
On grooming, a clipped or shaved Peekapoo only needs to be groomed twice per week while daily brushing or cleaning is needed for a Peekapoo with a full grown natural coat
This dog breed is very active and energetic dog requiring daily exercises like a good walk in the yard. Over exercising can put the dog at risk of respiratory distress. These dogs can also be easy to train using positive reinforcement and really loves being outdoors as well as in the house.
