As September rolls in, cooler temperatures are coming and coming fast. In the next few months pets will start to freeze – especially the cute little dogs or the short-haired dogs. Buying a “dog coat” can be expensive and tough to find their correct sizes. Not to mention, they are often more expensive than people coats. Because of this we wanted to share some ideas to epicycle an old sweater, sweatshirt or sweatpants into a dog coat in 5-minutes plus there is no sewing involved! Lets be real, you will never wear that sweater thats been in the back of your closet for the last 5 years anyways.
You can even take 20-minutes and finish it off nicely and doll it up a bit, but in all reality, you just need a pair of scissors, and old sweater, sweatshirt or sweatpants and you will have a coat for your fur baby in 5-minutes.
This is the basic idea behind the project no matter whether it is an old sweater, long-sleeved shirt, sweatshirt, sweatpants, fleece pants, etc. Although this gives you the basic idea, you can find instructions for creating a pup sweater from sweatpants below:
Super easy right? Take 5-minutes out of your day, dig through your old winter clothes and make your fur baby a warm sweater for the cold weather to come!
